The short version. Be honest with us, tell us what is in your shipment, pay what we agree, and we will move your goods carefully and keep you updated. Please read these terms, because using our website, app or services means you accept them.
1. About these terms
These Terms and Conditions apply to everything you do with Africa Link Cargo Ltd ("we", "us"): our website www.africalinkcargo.com, the Africa Link Cargo mobile app, and our services. "You" means the person or business using them. If you use them for a company, you confirm you can act for it.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information and forms part of these terms.
2. Our services
We offer logistics and related services between China and Africa, including:
- Air, sea and land freight, FCL and LCL (groupage) loading, and trailer transport.
- Customs clearance, warehouse storage, packaging, dangerous goods handling and courier delivery.
- Procurement and sourcing, supplier payments, money transfers to China and purchase funding support.
- Car importation from China.
- Visa assistance, air ticketing and airport pickup.
Each service may have its own details, and some are not available on every route. We will confirm the details with you before you pay.
3. Your account and the app
- Accounts are opened by our office, not in the app. To sign in you enter your phone number and a one-time code sent by WhatsApp.
- Keep your phone and codes private. Anything done with your sign-in is treated as done by you, so tell us right away if your phone is lost or someone else may have access.
- Give us correct and up-to-date details, including your phone number.
- Information in the app (tracking, balance, rates) is updated by our team as events are recorded. It may be slightly behind real life, so treat it as a guide and ask us if something looks wrong.
- The app is provided for your own use. Do not copy it, reverse-engineer it, or use it to harm our systems or other users. We may suspend access that breaks these terms.
4. Prices, rates and quotes
- Prices on our website and app (for example the price per CBM) and exchange rates are set by us and can change. They are estimates until we confirm them.
- The final freight price is confirmed when your goods are received, weighed and measured at our warehouse. Charges are based on actual or volumetric measurement, whichever applies.
- Prices may not include customs duties, taxes, port or border charges, or local delivery, unless we say so in writing. Those are normally paid by you.
- Special offers are limited and may end at any time.
5. Payments, supplier payments and cash advances
- You agree to pay our invoices on time, in the currency and way we agree.
- Supplier payments and transfers: we pay your suppliers only on your instructions. Please check the supplier details carefully. We are not responsible for losses from wrong details you give us, or from disputes between you and your supplier.
- Cash advances and purchase funding: these are requested in the app or by contacting us, and are subject to our approval. We may refuse any request. Approved amounts, limits and repayment terms will be confirmed to you, and the amount must be repaid as agreed.
- We may hold your goods until all amounts you owe us have been paid.
- Your balance and transaction list in the app show what we have recorded. If you think something is wrong, tell us promptly so we can check.
6. What you can and cannot ship
- You must describe your goods honestly and completely (contents, quantity, value and type).
- You must not send illegal items, counterfeit goods, weapons, drugs, or anything banned by the countries involved.
- Dangerous goods (such as batteries, chemicals, liquids or flammables) must be declared in advance. We may refuse them or charge extra.
- We may open and inspect packages where needed for safety, customs or the law.
- If you give false information, or send prohibited goods, you are responsible for all fines, delays, losses and costs, and we may refuse, hold or hand over the goods to the authorities.
7. Shipping times, customs and delivery
- Transit times are estimates, not promises. Weather, port congestion, customs checks, holidays, strikes and border issues can cause delays.
- You are responsible for giving full documents and details, and for customs duties and taxes, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
- Goods are delivered to our branch for collection, or to the address you give us if we agree to deliver. Please collect promptly and bring ID.
- Goods not collected after we notify you may be charged storage fees. If they are left unclaimed for a long time after repeated notices, we may sell or dispose of them to cover our costs, as the law allows.
8. Loss, damage and our responsibility
- We take care of your goods, but shipping has risks. We are responsible for loss or damage only where it is caused by our own fault or negligence.
- Please inspect your goods when you receive them and tell us about any visible damage or missing items straight away, and in any case within 7 days. Later claims may be harder or impossible to accept.
- Where we are responsible, compensation is limited to the proven value of the lost or damaged goods, and never more than the value you declared to us. We recommend that you arrange cargo insurance for valuable goods.
- We are not responsible for delays, indirect or business losses (such as lost sales or profit), or events outside our control, such as natural disasters, war, strikes, government actions, or acts of carriers and other third parties.
- Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that cannot legally be limited.
9. Visa assistance, tickets and car imports
- Visas: we help prepare and submit your application. The decision belongs only to the embassy or consulate, so we cannot guarantee approval or timing. Embassy fees vary and are set by them. You must give true and complete information.
- Air tickets and airport pickup: are subject to the airline's and provider's own rules, fares and change or cancellation fees.
- Car imports: vehicles must meet the import rules of the destination country. Taxes, duties and registration costs are separate unless we confirm otherwise in writing.
10. Using our website and app fairly
- Do not misuse our Services, try to break into them, introduce viruses, or collect data from them automatically.
- Our name, logo, texts, images and app design belong to Africa Link Cargo Ltd or its licensors. Do not copy or use them without our written permission.
- We try to keep the Services running, but we cannot promise they will always be available or error-free. We may change, pause or stop features at any time.
11. Ending the relationship
You may stop using our Services at any time, after settling anything you owe us. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, do not pay, give false information, or if we suspect fraud or illegal activity. Terms that should naturally continue (such as payment, liability and privacy) continue after that.
12. Disputes and governing law
We would always rather solve a problem together first, so please contact us. If we cannot agree, these terms are governed by the laws of Rwanda, and the courts of Rwanda will have authority to decide the dispute, unless mandatory law where you live says otherwise.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using our Services after a change, it means you accept the new terms. Changes do not affect shipments already agreed, unless the law requires it.
